More About Me, My Style And How I Got Here…
Hey you!
I’m Kim Fox, the face behind KFox Creations, a photography service focused on capturing your best moments. I’m an event, portrait, and wedding photographer who transitioned from hobbyist to professional.
My Roots
I grew up in the small town of Russell, Massachusetts, and now reside outside the Berkshires with my fiancé and our two dogs. Living here means having beautiful landscapes within driving distance, from Rhode Island to the Cape, upstate New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. I love the greenery of our summers, the vibrant colors of fall, the revival of spring, and the quietness of winter (though, I’ll admit, by February it can be a bit much!).
A Lifelong Passion
Photography has been a part of my life since childhood. I started getting creative by filming short films on my dad’s camcorder, capturing family moments on our Polaroid, and taking selfies with my friends on my Sony Cybershot. I covered my bedroom walls in 4x6-sized prints from CVS. My high school and college years were filled with as many photography classes as they’d let me take, despite majoring in business administration. At the time, I didn’t see photography as a practical career path for me, thinking it was only for the famous or wealthy.
My Career Journey
After moving out at 19, I worked various jobs to support myself through college, including bartending at Liston’s in Worthington and managing Dave’s Pet City in Northampton. Eventually, I spent eight years at Honda Financial Services, moving through departments and promotions until they announced a company-wide relocation. Faced with the decision of moving states to stay with the company or changing course, I chose to take this as a sign to finally pursue my passion for photography.
Becoming a Professional
Since 2022, I have become certified through the New York Institute of Photography’s Professional Photographer program, captured multiple weddings, conducted numerous portrait sessions for couples and families, and worked a few locally run events. My style is all about capturing natural, candid moments that tell the story of your life as it is, right at that instant. I strive to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere during sessions, ensuring you feel your best and allowing the vibe you're looking for to happen naturally.
The Importance of Authentic Photos
Why are authentic, high-quality photos important? Think of times you’ve seen old photographs of relatives you never got to meet or friends you once knew but lost touch with. How do those photos make you feel when you see them again? That feeling is why they are important. Pictures bring us back to those moments, helping us remember the little things we forgot. It’s like music for our eyes, enhancing our memories of that day because of that image and reinforcing them.
Preserving Memories
When we’re gone, what we leave behind are our memories in the minds of those still around, but even those can fade. Photos are tangible blueprints that tell our story long after we’re gone. I am dedicated to creating beautiful images for people during their most memorable times, ensuring those moments are preserved forever.
